Fremont_Trip

The following weekend after we returned from New York, we drove up to visit our parents in Fremont. They took care of Nalu while we were in new York. He actually was at their house for 3 weeks! I think it is obvious that he loved being there. He had a nice yard to himself and had two doggie pals next door to play with. While we were in Fremont we got to visit with our cousin Liane in Walnut Creek. She had am insurance certification exam to study for, so we only got to see her for a few hours, but we made the most of it. We met in downtown Walnut Creek and posed for a family picture.

It actually worked out perfectly because we were headed to a luau where our friend Jon Yamasato was performing with Herb Ohta Jr. and David Kamakahi. Both Herb and David are following in their father's footsteps and are among the premier Hawaiian musicians of our generation. We wouldn't miss Jon in concert! It was much easier than flying to Hawaii. :) Oh, and let's not forget the most important part of the evening...luau buffet. Special thanks to the ladies on our table who are vegetarian and passed their lau lau down to me. We even had poi!
