Oahu 2008

Back from Hawaii. It has been 2 weeks, and I am finally getting around to documenting our trip.

The first few days were spent on the west side of the island, at the Ko Olina Resort. We stayed at the Marriott, thanks to mom and dad for letting us use the time-share. It's a funny story, that my parents booked the week for their vacation (which they only stay the weekend every year and let the rest of the week go unused). They didn't even know that we were coming to town the same week, nor did we have any idea that they had the place reserved. Anyhow, it all worked out. We got to be treated to a luxurious stay on the top floor of the hotel. The place was probably the size of our townhouse...and there was no one on either side of us. Or above us for that matter. All very important pieces of a vacation stay in my book. We even went to the Paradise Cove luau to celebrate our anniversary (4 years, can you believe it?), which was my first time to that luau, even though I grew up about 30 minutes away.

Towards the end of our stay, dad and I went on some meetings together for business. We also were able to spend time with family that we have not seen in a long time. As usual, the time was spent over a good meal. Got to see Grandma and Obaachan, and also got to celebrate my Uncle's birthday. He has a brilliant idea to check out the Hakone Japanese buffet. Probably the best Japanese buffet I have been to, in terms of quality and selection of the different types of food.

We were so happy to have been able to relax and celebrate our anniversary in Hawaii. To see family and friends in one of our favorite places on earth. What a wonderful 4 years we have been blessed with. We look forward to many more wonderful memories. -LMY
